Tartarus Press was founded in 1990 by Ray Russell and Rosalie Parker, initially to put into print some obscure items by Arthur Machen. Although they retain their love of classic supernatural fiction, they are equally enthusiastic about contemporary writing from across various genres, and have published first/early books by writers as diverse as Mark Samuels, Angela Slatter, Quentin S.
